Premiere of “Garlands for Harpsichord and Organ” at St. Columba’s Annual New Year’s Eve Concert

On December 31st, 2019 Justus Parrotta’s Garlands for Harpsichord and Organ will premiere at the Annual New Year’s Eve Concert at St. Columba’s Church, Tenleytown, Washington, DC, 6-7:30PM.  Reception to follow.

Other selections include Bach, Cuban guitar music, the Champagne Toast from Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, and selections from The American Songbook. 

The performers include Rosa Lamoreaux, soprano, Michael Bard, guitar, Ann Colgrove, harpsichord, Diane Heath, organ, Jonathan Nazdin, bass, Anne Timpane, organ, and David Timpane, baritone. 

St. Columba’s is located at 4201 Albemarle Street, NW, DC, $25 donation.  Proceeds go to the church music program.   Students free.  Tickets at the door only. 

Three Hours of Organ Music in Tenleytown!

On Saturday, September 14th, 2019, Justus Parrotta will perform at the Art All Night Festival at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Washington, DC on the Flentrop Organ.  The event is from 7-10 PM located at 4201 Albemarle St, NW, Washington, DC 20016.

Harmonic Introductions, will present overtone singing in the parish hall.  In addition to both events, a stunning art exhibit will feature watercolor, oil painting, sculpture, photography and children’s book art.

Dedication Recital at First Presbyterian Church Arlington, Virginia

On Sunday, September 8th, 2019, at 4PM, Justus Parrotta will open the Dedication Recital at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington Virginia with John Rutter’s Toccata in Seven, Parrotta’s own Meditation on “Wachet Auf”, and Jean Langlais’s Fête. The other performers include Tona Brown, Paul Byssainthe, Jr., Adam Graham, Damien Jones, and Nevilla Ottley. Admission is free and the church is located at 601 North Vermont Street, Arlington, Virginia, 22203. There is ample parking.

Solo organ recital at Sterling Organ House, Laurel, Maryland. August 18th at 4PM.

On Sunday, August 18th at 4PM, Justus Parrotta will present a solo organ recital at Sterling Organ House in Laurel, Maryland, featuring both organs of Laurenskerk, Rotterdam, Holland on the Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ System.

Suggested Donation $25-35 per person

Two July Events in Gunnison County, Colorado with Justus Parrotta

On Thursday, July 18th from 5-7PM, both acts of Justus Parrotta’s opera Lottie Silks will be presented at the John and Georgie Kincaid Concert Hall at Quigley Hall of Western Colorado University, in Gunnison, Colorado. A brief question and answer session will be presented after the performance. 

Justus Parrotta will present a solo recital on Sunday, July 21st at 11AM at Union Congregational Church in nearby Crested Butte, Colorado located at 403 Maroon Avenue.  The program features music by Bach, Buxtehude, Jimenez, Mendelssohn, Parrotta, and Erik Santos.

Potomac Chapter American Guild of Organists Members Recital, March 31st, 2019 at 7:30 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church, Germantown, Maryland

On March 31st, 2019, Justus Parrotta will perform Georg Böhm’s Praeludium in D Minor at the Members Recital of the Potomac Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  The recital will take place at Messiah Lutheran Church in Germantown, Maryland on the church’s 1990 2 Manual 23 Stop, 30 Rank Flentrop Organ .  The church is Located at 13901 Clopper Road, Germantown, MD 20874.  There is ample parking.
